Domain Name
Another requirement of having an operational and fully functioning website is to purchase a domain name. A domain name is the address that people use to find you or your company on the web. Put simply, it's the URL that you type in the browser's address bar to go to a specific website.
For example, our domain name is: https://www.startupwebsolutions.com.au.
You can use your domain to do a lot of things, such as:
- Send mail - use your email address as a webmail account or forward emails to another address. This is particularly useful because if you happen to change your ISP (Internet Service Provider) you won't have to send emails to inform people you have changed your address
- Start blogging - publish photos, ideas and thoughts on your own personalised blog
- Park it - maybe you haven't decided what to do with your new domain name. Don't worry, there's no rush
- Tell the world - share your new online identity with everyone you know
Choosing a domain name doesn't have to be a hassle. Try to choose a name that is easy to remember, short and, if possible, one that represents your company or interest. How Do I Get a Domain Name?
As part of all our offered packages, the team at StartUp provide all domain names for our customers. All common domain extensions are included (i.e. .com.au, .net.au, .com, etc). All European and other country domain extensions are excluded as part of the package. StartUp can easily organise an international domain name for our clients if need be. Any additional costs for such names would be passed on to the customer. We automatically renew domain names unless otherwise instructed.
