- So, to get some insight into that unique and layered history, The Downtown CDC spoke to Joanna Obuzor, the Operations Manager at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust for the Benedum Administration. Construction on the building started in 1927 and finished by 1928. Back then it was a family theater, not the multi-purpose performance space it is today.
